Situated in Perth County, Stratford is a small yet bustling City. Established in the 1830’s, Stratford is home to the famous Stratford Shakespeare Festival, which has been active for more than 60 years. Stratford is rich in world-class theatre – with both classic Shakespearean plays and modern, contemporary productions. Stratford is also a favourite city for many to visit for the sight-seeing alone. From beautiful heritage homes to the idyllic parks along the Avon River (complete with resident swans) to the charming Shakespearean Gardens, there is plenty of natural beauty to keep visitors coming back year after year.
2019 takes us on a journey of 1 Musical and 1 Comedy for your enjoyment.
Billy Elliott, The Musical – Dreams don’t come easy in the hardscrabble mining town, driven by a bitter national strike, where 11 year old Billy lives with his bereaved family. But Billy’s discovery of his talent for dance awakens in him a passion that will transform his life & win the hearts of his whole community.
With its inspirational story, breathtaking dance numbers & music by pop legend Elton John, this award-winning show – based on the smash-hit movie – will appeal to all.
Private Lives, by Noel Coward – Divorced for five years, Elyot & Amanda are reunited by chance – while honeymooning with their new spouses. Succumbing to raging ex appeal, they run off together to Paris, only to discover all over again – hilariously – that there’s more than one way to drive each other crazy.
The wit of Noel Coward is at its cheekiest in this uproariously romantic comedy, set in a sophisticated world of cocktails, glamour & sparkling repartee.
