Each year, the National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC. The annual Cherry Blossom Festival celebration honors the lasting friendship between the United States and Japan and the continued close relationship between the two countries.

Thursday, April 4 Welcome to the National Cherry Blossom Festival!
Following breakfast, we depart for our adventure Welcome to Washington DC and home to the National Cherry Blossom Festival! Throughout this tour, we’ll have many opportunities to view the thousands of Cherry Blossom Tree’s in bloom! This afternoon we have time for a scenic cruise along the Potomac River. Sit back and enjoy the famous monuments of Washington, DC from an entirely new perspective on this narrated sightseeing cruise. Travel along the Potomac River to see the not only the gorgeous cherry blossoms but the plethora of famous monuments and landmarks, with stunning reflective views of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Washington Monument, Arlington Memorial Bridge, and more. This afternoon check into our hotel for the next two evenings. Breakfast & Dinner Included.

Friday, April 5 Washington DC Touring & Illumination Tour
This morning, meet our guide and depart for a full day tour of our Nation’s Capital. Some of the highlights include views of the White House, U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, Embassy Row, Supreme Court, the National Cathedral and Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Enjoy lunch on own at the Old Post Office Pavilion. This afternoon, we’ll visit the new National World War II Memorial honoring the 16 million who served in the armed forces of the U.S., the more than 400,000 who died, and all who supported the war effort from home. Symbolic of the defining event of the 20th Century, the memorial is a monument to the spirit, sacrifice, and commitment of the American people. Enjoy a savory dinner at one of the city’s fine restaurants followed by an evening of sightseeing featuring our national’s most beloved memorials and monuments dramatically illuminated upon the Washington landscape. Highlights include the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and the Korean and Vietnam Veterans Memorials.

Saturday, April 6 Arlington National Cemetery and depart
After breakfast, we’ll depart for Arlington National Cemetery and hop aboard the Tour Mobile for a tour around the Cemetery. View the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Eternal Flame marking John F Kennedy’s Grave and visit the Iwo Jima Memorial which is one of the largest bronze statues ever cast. Depart for our overnight and check into our hotel for a relaxing night stay. Breakfast & Dinner Included.

Sunday, April 7 Depart for home
Following breakfast, we’ll begin our journey home. Breakfast Included
